Self-Examine :: Reflection

 At the start of GLPS, I set goals as part of a 30-day challenge. Now, it is time to review my goals and check my progress.

 My 3 goals were these.

1. Read a book name The Giver
2. Win pop song contest
3. Get lots of green cards

 My First goals was 'read a book named The Giver.' To achieve this goal, I carried the book everywhere to read it when I have time. However, this goal is not complete. So I can use my independent study time to achieve it.

 My Second goal was 'win pop song contest'. Our class, class 16, sang Do Re Mi song in English. To win pop song contest, I practiced a lot and I was confidence on the stage. But this goal is not complete. So I can practice more next time to achieve it.

 My third goal was 'get lots of green cards.' To achieve this goal, I always tried to speak in English. Also I cleaned my room well. So this goal is complete.



 I am not able to reach two goals, so I make changes of those.

 I revised my first goal: Read a book named 'Giver' until this month. It has 3 steps to achieve it. First, carry the book everywhere to read it. Second, read it everyday more than 1 hour. Last, study words I do not know in the book.

 I revised my second goal: Sing on pop song in front of my family. It also has 3 steps to achieve it. First, memorize the lyrics of song perfectly. Second, practice it a lot. Third, be confidence in front of them.

Monday

▲Monday morning, at Dasan Building. It was raining a lot.

  Monday morning, I did not bring my umbrella so I got soaked in the rain an was dripping wet. I was cold and awkward. However, the scenery of the school was cool.


Tuesday 

▲Tuesday afternoon, at my room. I and my roommates were very tired.

  Monday afternoon, I and my roommates were very tired because we should prepared for the debate. We read books too much, so we take a rest on our bed. Our room was really quiet.

▲Lily and Agnes. It was raining a lot.

  It was raining a lot. Agnes did not bring her umbrella, so she took Lily's one with her. Wind was cold and fast, but we were hot and not cool because of moisture.


Wednesday

▲At Chungmu Building, our first time to do yoga.

  Our class attended the yoga class on Wednesday. Yoga was painful because it was our first time to do yoga. Most of us slept in break time.


Thursday

▲Thursday morning, the way to the range. Going up there is too hard.

  Thursday morning, we went up to the range because our 1st and 2nd periods were golf. Going up there is too hard because it is far from the Dasan Building. It was hot.

▲At Chungmu Building, our second time to do yoga.

Our class attended the yoga class again on Thursday. Yoga was still painful, but it was better than Wednesday class because we already did it once. Some of us studied in break time.

Friday

▲At dormitory, I and my roommates had a party at night.

 Friday night, I and my roommates had a party. We had a lot of food to eat so we ate half of it after studying for 2 hours. We gave some of these to our room PA. We played some games, too. Party was fun, and food was delicious.

 Nicole is a girl who is the class president. She is kind, but she sometimes gets angry too easily and she is not good at studying.

 One day, she walked down stairs. She was carrying lots of books and files because her teacher said her to bring these to him. Books and files were heavy, so she walked carefully. However, she almost tumbled down and dropped teacher's books and files because someone ran on stairs and collided with her. She was relieved that she did not drop anything. On the other hand, she got angry. She wanted to know who knocked her down. So she looked around to find that person. She could find that person immediately because there was only one person who is next to the stairs.

 "Tom!"

 Tom is Nicole's best friend. He is a practical joker in her class. He is a great student, and he loves playing.

 Tom heard Nicole's voice, so he turned his head.

 "Tom, was that you? You pushed me?"

 "Ah....... I don't think so. I collided with you. I never push you. Actually, I did not know it was you, Nicole."

 Nicole wanted Tom's apology, but he did not. So she got angry again. She frowned at him because he just perked himself up. He thought she would forgive him without his apology because they are best friend. However, she offended because of his behavior. She decided to say something to him. She said...

Movie Review - "The Princess Bride"

 I watched a movie named "The Princess Bride." It is fantasy and adventure movie. The director of this movie is Rop Reiner. It was made in 1987. A boy was sick, and his grandfather read a book to him named "The Princess Bride." The main characters are princess Buttercup, Westley, and prince Humperdink. The main story of this movie starts at this moment.


 There was a beautiful girl named Buttercup in a fantasy village. She loved a farm boy, Westley, and he loved her, too. One day, Westley left Buttercup to earn money. Buttercup waited for him for a long time, but he did not come back to her. She thought he was dead. So she decided to marry prince Humperdink, although she still loved Westley. By the way, she was kidnapped by 3 villains who are Fezzik, Inigo and the other guy, right before the wedding. This is because prince Humperdink wanted to kill her to start a war. At that time, man in black rescued her from them. He was Westley. Buttercup was surprised. They were so happy to again because they still loved each other. However, after that, critical moments came to them. Prince Humperdink brought Buttercup to his castle because she thought she must marry him to make Westley safe. Prince Humperdink tried to kill Westley with a machine that can take someone's life. However, Fezzik and Inigo brought him back to life by Miracle Max's help. Then Westley, Fezzik, and Inigo rescued Buttercup from prince Humperdink. Therefore, they lived happily ever after.


 The movie usually takes place in a fantasy village, and sometimes a forest, a castle, Cliff of Insanity, and so on. It is adventurous. However, the story was too childish for me because their lines and behaviors were overstatement an awkward like an old play.

 Action is brilliant. This is the main reason why this movie is adventurous. The main story is quite interesting because strange and unique things like giant rats which live in the forest of the magic machine. Still, it is easy to guess what will happen next.

 I would like to change Buttercup's personality because she is an incompetent person. She just waits for someone's help.

 There are some lessons in this movie. First, I learned the importance of true love. Westley can rescue Buttercup with others because they truly loved. I think true love makes people brave. Also there is a leadership lesson that I can learn. That is 'Do not be afraid of future, and make your future by yourselves.' Westley was not afraid what will happen next when he decided to rescue Buttercup.

 I don't really like the film. This is because the main story of it is based on a common fairy tale, so it is too childish and boring for me.


 The movie "The Princess Bride" is adventure and fantasy movie. There are some lessons I can learn, and it is adventurous because of brilliant action. However, in my opinion, it is too tedious for teenagers. So I recommend it to young children.

My Goals

<My Goals>

Goal is something that you want to do or achieve. For examle, study math everyday can be a goal. Goal is a good energy to live enthusiastically. So I made 3 goals which are a 30 days challenge to enjoy the camp.

1. Read a book name The Giver
2. Win pop song contest
3. Get lots of green cards

 Each goals have 2 steps to achieve it.

 First goals is read a book named  The Giver.


 To achieve this goal, first, I am going to read this book for 1 hour everyday. It is a thick book, so I should read it everyday.
 Second, I am going to study words I dont know in this book. It will be helpful to understand it well.

 Second goal is win pop song contesr. Our class, class 16, is going to sing Do Re Mi song in English. To win pop song contest, I must memorize lyrics of song erfectly. I think this is a basic ste to attend the contest. Then I should be confident on the stage. In my opinion, having confidence is important in doing something in front of people.

 Third goals is get lots of green cards. To achieve this goal, I must always speak in English. If I break a rule named English only policy, EOP, I will get a yellow card and EOP paper. So I am going speak in English. Second, I have to be active during the class time.



  I am going to try hard to achieve these goals : read the book, win the contest, and get lots of green cards. If I achieve these, I will be very happy and proud of myself.
